Pokerstars.net is the largest online card room in the world. With a variety of games from your well known Cadillac of poker "Texas Hold'em" to some fun but not so popular tables lik"Deuce to Seven Triple Draw. With Texas Hold'em being the most popular game of poker this day and age, this is the game I will show you how to make money playing.
Maybe you have played poker for quite some time now. Maybe you are just learning. No matter, you are going to learn the best way, that works for me, to make money online with Pokerstars.net.
To start off there are a number of types of games you can join. Regular cash gamessit n go'sfreerollssatellites, and tournaments. If you are coming into Pokerstars with a small to none bankroll like I did, then you will want to start your Pokerstars career on the "Micro Sit N Go's." Not only will you have a cheap buy in to this tournament, but you won't have a big field to take down to be in the money. These sit n go tournaments range from 6 to 9 players with the top 3 cashing in. Eventually when your bankroll begins to grow, you will be able to grind it out in the more expensive sit n go's.

Now the key to winning these mini tournaments is to play tight but aggressive. In the beginning of the sit n go play tight, watch and learn. Use this time while the blinds are minimal to get a good read on your opponents. You catch a guy bluff 8 out of 10 showdowns leaving you with your future move when your heads up with him later in the game. So watch your opponents. Pokerstars also gives you this nice little "note taking" feature for each player you come in contact with. So take your notes early in the game.Once you start to learn what kind of player each person is, you'll know how to make the adjustments needed to take down this table.

Don't forget, position is VERY IMPORTANT! I can't stress this enough. If you are holding a medium pocket pair in early position, you still have the whole table to raise or re-raise you with the possibility of a high pocket pair or the deadly face cards. So be careful. Lets break it down a little better.
If you are in "Early" position - play tight. (Only high pockets, suited connectors no lower than 8;9.)
If you are in "Middle" position - play passive. (Be a check/calling machine with decent hands.)
If you are in "Late" position - play aggressive. (When you have that medium pocket pair, don't be afraid to be the bully. Also is a good time to check your bluffing opportunities.)
Keep this strategy in mind but be smart. If you have a slight feeling that you don't have the winning hand and you are not attempting to bluff, lay it down. It's not worth testing it only to find that you finished 8th place in a 9 man sit n go.
Don't be afraid to dip your toes into the daily "Freeroll Tournaments." Everybody loves a free buy in. Pokerstars.net also provides you with great first deposit promotions right there on their website.
So be sharp, play smart, and stack those checks.
